The pandemic is still taking its toll and everyone knows that the strain of the virus is all around and trying to escape from the infection that would cost them normal life amid social stigma.
If someone is reported to be positive, then the healthcare people knock at the door and isolation takes place. The problem is that those who recovered still face social stigma. They are unable to go shopping, their family members look with suspicion as a potential Covid case.
This provoked people not reporting even if they detected some symptoms. Even if they have a common cold and fever people refuse to consult a doctor. The other illness affected people are increasing day by day due to this social stigma and not reporting the outcomes.
- Fear of becoming the talk and target of the local area and residential colonies people started giving their office address and fake address when they were detected and admitted for the treatment. This causes delay in tracking and detecting the surrounded area and contacts of the patient. The potential of spike in the area where the infected person really resides increases due to this.
The upcoming elections in Bihar and Tamil Nadu in 2021 may cause more problems for door to door campaigns, street processions and mohalla meetings. This time most of the candidates and parties will depend on Social Media, Print Media and Electronic Media. The difficult in one to one contact campaigns may paralysis completely and people even will refuse to accept pamphlets and posters.
- The street play will become difficult and the people who play it may be considered as potential carriers into the mohallas. The political leaders will find it difficult to get foot soldiers to carry the message of the party and the candidates to the voters. Volunteering will become very risky and everyone will find aggressive social media posting and other distance messages favourable.
This tendency is going to increase the election expenditure and generation and distribution of black money.
- Going to the polling booth and setting up a polling booth will be a task and even people may not turn to the polling booth to vote being afraid of pandemic. The election officials, security establishment and election commission's monitoring community all are going to find it difficult to smoothly conduct the election in 2021.
In case the election is declared, the crowd in the street to listen to the political leaders and candidates will not be encouraging. Once the election campaign gets its heat, the spike in Corona cases may increase. The quarantine red spots will find it a task to help the people in that area to participate in the election. The postal ballot may play a big role in the coming election.
This is the right time to introduce a voting app. Using the app anyone can vote using thor UID. This will come in handy if the democracy is willing to move ahead and create a more decentralized at the same time error free, faultless election and voting in the elections.
The political parties will find this election more expensive as the electronic media and the print media sensing the social isolation issues may increase the per column rate or per second rate for carrying the Ads.
The funding corporations/sources will find it a tough task to meet the increasing demand of funds due to the costly platforms becoming more reliable and safe for the election campaign. The present economic condition and paralyzed financial ecosystem can force the election commission to postpone the election for one more year. It will reduce the risk and increasing role of black money in the coming elections 2021.
